Vance Kirkland's (1904-1981) "Clouds, Mountains and a Lake" sits in the basement of the BYU Museum of Art. Last time I was there I went to the basement, thinking I'd make it around to look at all of the paintings, but found myself stuck in front of this one. I lay on the bench in front of it, wanting to drift off into this eerie land for a while.
Wow, this is an amazing piece. I'll have to go see it soon. Thanks for making me aware of it.
